Volunteer Opportunities

We couldn’t provide the FREE services we offer without the help of our team of volunteers. See below for each volunteer job and the detailed description of each job.

Care for our clients with peer counseling (training required), provide information on community resources and provide ongoing support for clients.

Time commitment: 2-4 time slots per month or a total of approximately 4 hours per month.

Administer pregnancy tests and review medical forms with client. Must hold a current CMA,RN, NP or PA license valid for North Carolina. SPCC will provide medical malpractice insurance for currently licensed CMAs, RNs, & NPs. PAs must have permission from their supervising physician to provide charity care under their own medical malpractice insurance.

Time commitment: 1-2 times per month for 2-3 hours each time.

Provide limited obstetric ultrasound. Must be current RDMS credentialed with an OB/GYN specialty or RN with an active NC nursing license (Training required for RNs. SPCC will provide the training with a minimum 1 year commitment to SPCC).

Time commitment: 4 hours per week.

Chaperone our ultrasound providers and be a silent support person during ultrasound examinations.

Time commitment: 2-4 appointments a week.

Sort, organize and replenish donations in the Community Shopping Room and the Hope Baby Boutique.

Time commitment: 2-4 hours per month

Assist clients in the Community Shopping Room and the Hope Baby Boutique to select the appropriate maternity and baby items.

Time commitment: 2-4 times a month for 2-3 hours each time

Prepare or purchase a prepared meal for HOPE program moms who have recently given birth and deliver the meal to their home.

Time commitment: Estimated 2 hours per meal. May sign-up once or on a rotation

Our NEW 8-week parenting series (offered 3 times a year). We need pediatricians, OBGYN’s, nurses and various other fields to present on a rotating schedule throughout the year. Material will be provided.

Time commitment: 2 hours on the night you present

Assist with fundraising projects such as Baby Bottle Campaign and Annual Banquet. Example tasks could include preparing and delivering baby bottles, soliciting sponsors and donations for Community Day door prizes and Benefit Dinner silent auction.

SPCC is also seeking professional fundraisers and experienced grant writers to provide assistance in developing fundraising strategies and to research and write grant applications.

Time commitment: Varied times throughout the year as your schedule allows

Coordinate community outreach opportunities in your church or community group, possibly including but not limited to: organizing a Baby Bottle Campaign; including SPCC in local missions events, baby showers, Bring It In boxes and/or other creative ways to get your community involved; as well as championing SPCC and life affirming options to your church or community group’s leadership team.

Time commitment: Varies according to what your church and/or community group allows and according to what activities you orchestrate within your church and/or community group

Bring small group into center after hours once every other week to vacuum, mop, clean bathrooms, take out trash, etc.

Time commitment: Approximately 1-2 hours every other week

Any professional services you wish to volunteer. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Professional fundraiser
  • Grant writer

Represent SPCC at community events (booth/table) answering questions and handing out materials.
